Audit logs

Written by Riya Sebastian

An audit log, also known as an activity log or audit trail, is a chronological record of events or actions that have occurred within Atomicwork. Audit logs are crucial for monitoring security-related events.

They help in identifying and responding to security breaches, unauthorized access attempts, or suspicious activities. By reviewing the log, administrators can detect and mitigate security threats in a timely manner. Only Atomicwork organization admins have access to the audit log.

Accessing the Atomicwork audit log

  • Navigate to Settings > Security > Audit log.

  • The audit log shows who performed the action, the time the action occurred, the action category, the activity type, the IP address, and the activity details. For the sake of brevity, Atomicwork groups certain actions. For example, if you add two users - Amanda and Brianne - to the IT workspace, Atomicwork will record the activity as "Added 2 users to the IT workspace"

  • Search audit logs and apply filters, including activity date and time filters, to narrow the results to a specific period.

  • Export audit logs as a CSV for reporting, compliance, or offline analysis. The export uses the selected time range or date filter. If no date filter is applied, the export covers the default range shown in the UI.
