# initiateApprovalByPolicy

Initiate an approval on a request (descriptor or policy).

Starts a new approval lifecycle on an existing REQUEST ticket. Pass
EITHER `approval_descriptor` (from `getIgaResolvedEntitlements`) OR
`policy_id`. Approvers and criteria come from the referenced policy —
you do not pass them in this call.

## Parameters
