# Addigy

## Addigy: Overview and capabilities

Integrate Atomicwork with Addigy to manage your Apple device fleet (macOS, iPadOS, and iOS) without leaving Atomicwork.

Here are the key capabilities you can unlock with this integration:

* **Discover and sync devices seamlessly:** Automatically import and update your Addigy-managed Apple devices and their attributes, giving incidents and requests richer device context.
* **Manage devices remotely:** Restart, shut down, lock, or erase enrolled devices to respond quickly to security incidents and lost or stolen hardware.
* **Link assets to incidents/requests:** Link and manage devices directly from support tickets so IT teams can troubleshoot without switching tools.

## Addigy: Permissions and setup

### Permissions

To connect your Atomicwork and Addigy accounts, you need:

* **Atomicwork admin access**: You need org admin access in Atomicwork.
* **Addigy access to manage API keys**: Your Addigy user role needs the **View**, **Create**, and **Delete Integrations API Keys** permissions.

### Setup

#### Step 1: Create an API key in Addigy

* In Addigy, go to **Account > Integrations > API & Webhooks**.
* In the Addigy API section, open the **V2** tab and click **New API Token**.
* Choose the permissions for the token. Enable **View Devices** so Atomicwork can read your device inventory, and **Execute MDM commands** if you want to run remote device actions from Atomicwork. Grant only the permissions you need.
* Copy the token and store it securely — Addigy won't let you view it again.

For more detail, see Addigy's guide to [creating an API v2 token](https://support.addigy.com/hc/en-us/articles/16938210315411).

> \[!NOTE]
> **The API key must have the View Devices permission.** Without it, the connection fails with a message asking you to verify the key has device-view access. An invalid key is rejected with an "Invalid Addigy API key" message.

#### Step 2: Connect Addigy with Atomicwork

* As an Atomicwork admin, go to **Settings > Enterprise integrations > App store > Addigy** and click **Connect**.
* Paste the Addigy API key.
* Click **Connect** to complete the setup.

#### Step 3: Enable asset sync

* On the Addigy app page, enable asset sync to start bringing Addigy devices into Atomicwork as assets.
* Atomicwork ingests the device attributes Addigy exposes — hardware model and chip (including Apple Silicon), memory, disk space, OS platform, version and build, uptime, MAC addresses and local IP, online status and last-online time, agent version, and enrollment state (MDM, DEP, supervised). Security posture such as FileVault, firewall, Gatekeeper, and System Integrity Protection is included, along with compliance status, warranty days remaining, and the assigned user's name and email.
* Atomicwork also brings in the apps installed on each device, including the app name, version, and whether an update is available.

## Addigy: Managing devices and remote actions

With a centralized view of all assets — combining native assets and data from other sources like [Jamf](https://support.atomicwork.com/integrations/asset-endpoint-management/jamf), [Microsoft Intune](https://support.atomicwork.com/integrations/asset-endpoint-management/microsoft-intune), and [Kandji](https://support.atomicwork.com/integrations/asset-endpoint-management/kandji) — you can track device health, enforce security policies, and respond to incidents quickly.

### Viewing device information

Go to **Directory > Assets** to view all assets in your organization. Assets synced from Addigy are marked with an Addigy logo. Use filters to narrow by attributes like device type, status, or assigned user.

Each device shows its synced attributes, such as serial number, host name, UDID, hardware model and chip, memory and disk space, OS version, enrollment and compliance state, security posture, warranty days left, and assigned user. The apps installed on each device are listed too, with the version and whether an update is available.

If Atomicwork can't resolve a device's assigned user, the device still syncs — the assigned-user field is simply left empty.

### Performing remote actions

For devices synced from Addigy, you can run these remote actions directly from Atomicwork:

* **Restart**: Reboots the device to troubleshoot issues or apply updates.
* **Shut down**: Powers off the device.
* **Lock**: Locks a lost or stolen device to prevent unauthorized access. Locking requires a six-digit PIN, and you can include an optional message to show on the device's screen.
* **Erase**: Wipes the device and restores it to factory settings — useful when an employee leaves or a device can't be recovered. Erasing requires a six-digit PIN.

Keep these requirements in mind:

* Devices must be enrolled in MDM. Devices without MDM enrollment show no available actions.
* **Restart** and **Shut down** are available only on Macs and supervised devices. Other devices offer only **Lock** and **Erase**.

To run a remote action:

* Search or go to the device in **Directory > Assets**.
* Click the **Actions** menu and select the action.
* The command is sent to Addigy, and its status is tracked in Atomicwork.

### Linking devices to incidents

Linking a device to an incident or request adds context and speeds up resolution. To link a device:

* Go to the incident or request and click **+ Add** in the **Linked assets** panel.
* Atomicwork suggests devices assigned to the affected user, or you can search and link any device.
* Once linked, open the device from the **Linked assets** panel to review its details and run remote actions.
