Integrating the DocuSign MCP (Model Context Protocol) server with Atomicwork gives your AI Coworkers and automated workflows access to your DocuSign environment. Once connected, your AI Coworkers can securely manage envelopes, templates, users, and signing groups on your behalf to streamline document approval and signature cycles.

Understand the prerequisites

Before you begin the setup, ensure that you have the following access:

  • Atomicwork admin access: You need organization admin access in Atomicwork to configure integrations in the MCP Store.

  • DocuSign admin access: You need administrator access in DocuSign to authorize the OAuth connection.

Connect the DocuSign MCP server

Follow these steps to establish the OAuth connection between Atomicwork and DocuSign:

  1. Navigate to Settings > MCP Store > DocuSign.

  2. Click on the DocuSign tile and select Connect.

  3. Log in with your DocuSign administrator credentials on the secure authorization screen and give Atomicwork the following permissions.

Permissions

Usecase

Signature

Permission to create and send envelopes for e-signatures

Extended

Permission to stay logged in over time. Refreshes the access without asking each time

aow_manage

Manage DocuSign agreements and workflow features

adm_store_unified_repo_read

Read access to DocuSign's admin/document repository

Once authorized, Atomicwork displays the list of available DocuSign tools on your screen.

Configure AI Coworker and builder access

After completing the setup, you can define which tools your AI Coworkers can access. This helps you maintain security by practicing the principle of least privilege.

  1. Go to AI Workforce > AI Coworkers > Tools.

  2. Select the AI Coworker you want to configure.

  3. Grant granular or complete access to the available DocuSign tools based on your requirements.

In addition to standard AI Coworkers, the Admin Assist workflow builder and the coding agent automatically have access to the MCP server while building workflows and writing custom code scripts respectively.

Explore available tool categories

The DocuSign MCP server provides a comprehensive set of tools. The broad tool categories include:

  • Envelopes and Documents: Create, send, retrieve, and lock envelopes, or manage document attachments and responsive HTML previews.

  • Templates: Retrieve, lock, edit, and share DocuSign templates with specific groups.

  • Users and Groups: Add, update, or close users, and manage members within signing groups.

  • Account and Brand Settings: Update account settings, custom fields, brand profiles, watermarks, and stamps.

  • Workspaces and Cloud Storage: Manage collaborative workspaces, files, folders, and cloud storage configurations.

Review your next steps

Now that you have connected the DocuSign MCP server, you can configure your AI Coworkers to start automating signature workflows.
