Integrate the Jira MCP server with Atomicwork to give your AI Coworkers access to a wide range of Jira actions, from managing issues and projects to parsing JQL and handling service management tasks.

Review prerequisites

To connect the Jira MCP server, you need the following permissions:

  • Atomicwork admin access: You need organization admin access in Atomicwork.

  • Jira admin access: You need admin access in Jira to authorize the OAuth flow.

Connect the Jira MCP server

Follow these steps to set up the integration:

  1. Navigate to Settings > MCP Store > Jira.

  2. Click on the Jira tile and select Connect.

  3. During the OAuth authorization flow, uncheck Confluence and Compass. Atomicwork currently only supports the Jira MCP server.

  4. Switch to your Atlassian account, navigate to Rovo MCP server settings and add this domain: https://esd.atomicwork.com/api/external-oauth/public/install

  5. Once you're done, complete the authorization process. A list of all available Jira tools will be displayed on your screen.

Configure agent access

After the setup is complete, you can control which tools your AI Coworkers can use.

  1. Navigate to AI workforce > AI Coworker > Tools.

  2. Grant granular or complete access to the available Jira tools based on your workspace requirements.

Explore available tool categories

The tools list depends on Atlassian and is subject to change. The broad tool categories include:

  • Issues: Create, edit, delete, assign, transition, link, clone, bulk create, search (JQL), and manage properties or watchers.

  • Comments and Worklogs: Add, edit, delete, and list comments or worklogs.

  • Projects: Create, get, list all projects, view recent or permitted projects, and manage project roles or versions.

  • Sprints and Boards: List boards and sprints, create sprints, and move issues to sprints.

  • Users and Groups: Find users, manage group memberships, and check permissions.

  • Versions: Create, delete, and get project versions.
