With the Universal Agent's voice support, you can talk to Atom in your preferred language, and Atom responds in the same language for supported languages. This makes it easier for employees to get help quickly, for agents to support a global workforce, and for teams to adopt Atom without worrying about language barriers.

Speaking in a familiar language makes it easier to explain problems clearly and get to the right resolution. For example, an employee who prefers to speak Spanish can start a voice chat with Atom and say “Mi VPN no se conecta desde esta mañana. ¿Qué hago?” (My VPN hasn’t been connecting since this morning. What do I do?).

Atom understands the request and continues the conversation in Spanish, guiding them through the next steps without them needing to translate their problem or switch to English.

You can start a voice chat with Atom from:

  • The Atomicwork portal: Navigate to your company portal (https://yourcompany.atomicwork.com). Click on Ask Atom in the left navigation and then the voice icon in the chat.

  • The Universal Agent browser extension: Click on the Universal Agent extension in your browser, and then the voice icon in the chat.

How multilingual voice support works

When you speak to Atom using voice, it automatically detects the language a user is speaking and uses advanced AI models to understand and respond in that language. Behind the scenes, it does this by:

1. Converting the speech to text - Your spoken input is converted into text in the same language you spoke.

2. Language interpretation by AI models - The generated text is interpreted by the underlying AI models.

Note: For multilingual voice conversations, Atom currently relies on the Gemini 2.5 family of models. Because language understanding is handled by these models, interpretation can vary by language. In some cases, subtle phrasing or conversational nuances may not be fully captured.

Atomicwork will continue to work closely with leading AI model providers to improve language coverage, accuracy, and consistency over time.

3. Response generation - Atom determines the right response and converts it back to speech to respond in the same language you're speaking.

There are no language settings to be configured for admins or users. Just start a voice conversation and speak naturally.
