Much like in life, journeys can be assigned to multiple people, and it’s a unique experience for every assignee. Depending on the degree of personalization, every assignee can receive content tailored to their name, title, team, time zone, or gender.

Here’s how you can assign journeys to people:

  1. Event-based assignment. A journey can be assigned to an employee when they’re created in Atomicwork or if their details are updated.

    1. The update can be any update, in which case you’d choose “Always look for this event” or

    2. The update can be a specific change from or to specified values. For example, if an employee’s timezone changes from IST or PST. You can use any People field as a trigger.

    3. You can also specify who the journey is for. Condition blocks can include all people fields and even whether it should match a single value (or not be a single value) or match any of multiple values (or none of those multiple values). You can add multiple condition blocks and specify whether you want Atomicwork to treat them as OR condition blocks, AND condition blocks, or a combination of both.

  2. Time-based assignment. A journey can be assigned as soon as it’s published, on a specific date or relative to a date field like joined on, hired on, terminated on, and date of birth.

  3. Manual assignment. You can choose an employee from the list on the People > Directory page and assign a journey to them.

Notifications

When you assign a journey to an employee, they will receive a notification through email and Slack (if they’ve installed the Slack app). They can follow the link in the email to view their journey and the stages and actions in the journey.

Employees will be notified of tasks assigned to them on the day they’re due. If more than one task is waiting on you, we’ll put it in a digest and save you the trouble of clearing your inbox. You can also view all the tasks that are due on the day of and in the future by logging into your Atomicwork account.

Notifications tips and best practices

  • If an employee’s work email is not present in the system, we’ll send notifications to their personal email address. Once the work email has been added, we’ll send notifications to their work email.
