Help your employees help themselves using Atom Skills. Enable the Okta password reset skill so your employees can reset their passwords themselves without needing an administrator's intervention.
How it works
Your employee DMs the Assistant on MS Teams or Slack requesting a password reset.
The Assistant creates a request in Atomicwork to keep the team informed and assigns it to itself.
It checks if the user exists in Okta and if their account status is Active or Password Expired; if so, it provides a reset password link for the employee to use.
If the user isn’t found, or the account status is neither Active nor Password Expired, or link generation fails, the Assistant unassigns the request from itself so an agent can takeover and notifies the employee of follow-up support.
If the account is locked, the Assistant notifies the user to wait until the account is unlocked. After 5 minutes, it unlocks the account; if unlocking is successful, it generates the password reset link.
The Assistant then monitors whether the password has been updated at the 2, 5, and 10-minute intervals after the request was created. It does so by checking the Okta audit log to see if the reset action has been logged.
If updated, the Assistant marks the request as resolved, notifies the employee of the successful reset and offers further assistance.
If not updated after 10 minutes, the Assistant asks if the employee wants to raise a request for further support.
If the employee chooses to raise a request, the Assistant logs the request as unassigned with an open status, and confirms that the request has been raised.
