Permissions

To connect your Atomicwork and Salesforce accounts, you need:

  • Atomicwork admin access: You need org admin access in Atomicwork.

  • Salesforce admin access: You need admin access in Salesforce, allowing you to manage permissions and integrate Salesforce with Atomicwork.

To access the full range of Salesforce-Atomicwork features, the admin connecting the Salesforce account must have the following permissions in Salesforce:

Permission

Purpose

Access the identity URL service
(id, profile, email, address, phone)

To allow retrieval of identity-related information.

Manage user data via APIs
(api)

To enable access to the logged-in user’s account through APIs.

Perform requests at any time
(refresh_token, offline_access)

To allow token-based interaction with user data while offline.

To allow users to access their Salesforce leads and opportunities in Atomicwork, we obtain the following permissions in Salesforce:

Permission

Purpose

Access the identity URL service
(id, profile, email, address, phone)

To allow retrieval of identity-related information.

Manage user data via APIs
(api)

To enable access to the logged-in user’s account through APIs.

Perform requests at any time
(refresh_token, offline_access)

To allow token-based interaction with user data while offline.

Setup

  • As an Atomicwork admin, navigate to Settings > App Store (in Organization) > Salesforce, then click on Connect.

  • Enter your Salesforce URL, and select Connect.

  • Log into Salesforce and grant the required permissions.

  • Your Salesforce account is now connected to Atomicwork.

Setup - Employee

Before employees are able to search for information on Salesforce, they need to connect their Salesforce user account. This ensures that we’re able to honour access permissions when retrieving data.

This can be done when employees ask the Assistant for information from Salesforce for the first time (e.g., “Show me my leads”)

The Assistant will prompt the user to connect their Salesforce account and guide them through the process.

Alternatively, users can navigate to Settings > Connections, then select Connect under the Salesforce integration to complete the setup.
